FEED Egypt is a new initiative to support artists in Cairo who have lost income due to COVID-19. The project is created and coordinated by Aleya Allegra Pena, long-time performer in Cairo and living in Egypt since many years.
The most recent step in the project is the startup of a small takeout restaurant in Cairo, to employ people in the arts affected by the pandemic.
During December, 50% of Fireflow’s surplus from our classes & our webshop will go to the FEED Egypt project.
“Having raised money for many causes over the years in Egypt, and realizing the money will only temporarily help, we are aiming to create jobs to help feed the families. We will also have “Free Food Friday’s” and feed people for free and hopefully, as we are attached to a coffee shop we will employ musicians on the weekend to entertain the guests. We’re super excited to present this new initiative and hope to expand to many more areas of Cairo in the future.”/Allegra Aleya Pena, FEED Egypt coordinator
