By request – a deep dive in the marvellous song Garahetny Eyounu El Soda – ”His Dark Eyes Wounded Me”
Written by Baligh Hamdi in 1977 for the Egyptian singer & and actress Afaf Rady, this song should IMO be much more well-known!
I found it thanks to Outi of Cairo & her album ”Negmet El Layali”. This version – adapted for dance in the best way! – is the one we’ll use in the workshop.
So yes, I’ve been in love with this song for years! And now it’s time to really share the love. Welcome to join this course and be swept away in the music with me.
The course is held online via Zoom, with the option to join at my home studio in Ask! – and includes
– Choreography with impro-friendly sections, and with some of my ”signature” moves & variations
– Related technique (classic Raqs Sharqi)
– Tips on confident movement & expression on stage, in choreo or improv
– Class recordings, made available each week and until 1 month after the end of the course.
