Baladi Tableau - Workshop in Malmö Saturday June 8th

This workshop takes a deep dive into Egyptian Baladi style, with an improvisational choreography to "El Baladi Yewkal" (Baladi is the best) from Kareem Gad's album "Salltana" and with vocals by living legend Huda El Sunbati.
Annah created this choreo in 2022, has performed it at Stockholm Belly Dance Festival and had it as part of workshops and courses several times since then.

Music in the Baladi style can be songs with style-typical structure and instrumentation, or instrumental pieces in taksim/progression format, or a mix of these elements. "El Baladi Yewkal" contains many different musical references and elements within the Baladi tradition + some more modern expressions. Melodic, energetic, powerful and flirtatious!
